Out & About // Peachtree St.

Salutations Atlandish readers.  It's been a bit of time since I've posted but I'm back again and ready to tote my camera around and capture some Fall style.

The temperature this time of year is always a bit temperamental, fluctuating a little too drastically from week to week or day to day.  This annoying yet annual phenomenon creates a comical and eclectic mix of people on the streets.  Some dress in shorts and t-shirts clinging to the end of Summer while others adorn pants and coats ready to hop right into Winter.  It's tough to dress weather-appropriate every day, to find the perfect outfit for whatever the crazy "Fall" day may bring, but some people are doing it and doing it well and I've returned to make sure their efforts do not go unnoticed.

Out & About // Park Pl.

I highly suggest you view this image larger because this outfit is definitely about the details.  Those are brown and white striped seersucker trousers.  It's subtle, but a statement nonetheless.

Out & About // Reynoldstown MARTA

Out & About // Poplar St.

I was quite struck by just how dapper this gentleman was dressed.

Also, I encourage you to click on any image to view it full-sized.

Out & About // Luckie St.

I spent my Friday mid-morning relaxing and people-watching Downtown around Woodruff Park.  The city was especially bustling, and I snapped quite a few shots of some fellow Atlantans.

Out & About // Reynoldstown MARTA

Out & About // Decatur St.

I mean no disrespect to this woman with what I'm about to say but: yesterday I came across a post online about older women (and men) who shed the social constraints placed on them due to their age and dressed with exuberance and playfulness that rivaled youth culture.  It was an inspiring blurb about how we as a society place unnecessary boundaries on who should dress which way and how these beacons of revolt break the mold and continue to use their appearance as a means of personal expression rather than slowly fading into the background.  I hope this blog expresses that idea with every post, displaying people who turn down "normalcy" in the name of expression and, well, fun.  I feel this woman joins those ranks, with her mix of patterns, colors, and her enjoyable demeanor.

Out & About // Peachtree St.

I've returned from a lovely and fun-filled weekend in Savannah and jumped right back into prowling the streets of Atlanta for a well or interestingly dressed person.  This is my first shot since my return and I do believe it's put me right back on track.

Out & About // Georgia State's Library Plaza

I wanted to inform everyone that I will be going to Savannah this weekend.  Chances are, I will not end up downtown, but if I do, I most certainly will bring my camera and scout a stylish person to photograph.  Everyone have a splendid weekend.

Out & About // Peachtree St.

This out is all about the details.  This gentleman sure can accessorize.

Out & About // Walton St.

I see Aaron most everyday and she exhibits what Mr. Schumann dubs a "Personal Silhouette."  Aaron's outfits are structured very similarly and combine to create a cohesive wardrobe and personal style.  You'll most certainly be seeing more of her.

Here's another example of a "stolen shot."  Clever title, make yourself known.
The colors. The colors.

Out & About // Peachtree Center Ave.

Good Day.  Expect a slew of uploads over the next few minutes but be aware that I've been shooting them over the span of the last week or so.  I've been having trouble with my memory card.

Also, I'm wanting a different header for shots like this, taken without the subject's awareness.  I was thinking something like "Stolen Shots" but a little less harsh.  Ideas?

Out & About // Broad St.

I am thrilled that I finally got a shot on Broad Street.  It's one of my favorite areas Downtown because it and the neighboring Marietta Street have such a New York City vibe.  It's where many of the city's people cross paths and where Atlanta has one of its best metro auras.

The maxi skirt makes this outfit for me.  It's also a great example of a fashion trend being infused into one's own personal style.  Fashion and style are two separate realms that can be as closely linked as you'd care to have them be.

Out & About // Little 5 Points

If anyone would care to contact me for any reason, I regularly check my stubbsstreetstyle@gmail.com account.  I would certainly love to hear from any viewers who may be out there.

Out & About // Little 5 Points

I present to you an Atlantan man with personal style.  It's been a while since we've seen that here on this blog.

Out & About // Atlantic Station

Every piece of her outfit (minus the necklace) is from a thrift store.

I'm back, and even better, I solved my washed-out-color crisis.  Expect my photos to be much more vibrant from now on!

//An Apology

Dear Readers,

I cannot apologize enough for this unannounced hiatus.  I have been traveling a bit lately and taking my along camera, but to no avail.  I've also been swamped with work and Summer classes.  I can continue to complain and make excuses, but I shan't because I promised (if not to you then at least to myself) a quality blog.  I've got my eyes re-peeled on the streets of Atlanta, waiting for someone to walk right into my viewfinder and onto Atlandish.  I appreciate your patience and your support more than anything.  I'm a new blogger finding my feet and knowing that I have an audience makes it all worth while.

Until soon,
Jordan

Out & About // Woodruff Park

As I predicted, the chilly weather has swiftly passed and been forgotten.  Now we Atlantans are back to constructing outfits that keep our bodies as cool as possible (but hopefully still maintain proper out-in-public etiquette).

Out & About // Hurt Plaza

I wish I decided to start this blog in the Winter, for I am a sucker for a good heavy coat.  However, it shall probably be nothing but shorts and tees from this point out as the cold front will soon be moving on.  They don't call it Hotlanta for no reason.

I enjoyed her layering and the mixing of the brown material with the black lace skirt.

Out & About // Woodruff Park

//As of this moment I am officially caught up with the blog.  I have been shooting Street-Style for probably a month, but have only recently created this blog.  However, from this point onward all photos shall be up to date.//

I wanted to actually ask this woman to take her photo, but I believe she was part of an argument with some people out of frame, so I resigned to snapping a few sneaky shots.

Out & About // Piedmont Ave.

These past few days it has been uncharacteristically chilly in Atlanta, but it's been fun to try and shoot people's I-thought-it-was-Summer-or-at-least-Spring-but-I-guess-I'll-pull-out-my-Winter-coat looks.

After I showed this image to my friend she asked me what was so special about it.  Apparently tons of girls have a nice trench coat and wear socks that peak out from their rain boots.  If so, I have yet to see it and so the photo remains.  However, I am all for recognizing style trends.

Out & About // Reynoldstown MARTA

As I snapped away he pulled out his harmonica and began to play.

Also, if I can ask this guy if I can photograph him, then I should be able to ask anyone, right?

Out & About // Piedmont Ave.

I am a huge fan of a minimalistic outfit (although I can enjoy well-done layering as well) and specifically how this man achieved a successful look in three articles of clothing and three accessories (four if you count the dog).  With interesting but simple colors and fits an outfit can have just as much character as an  outfit full of patterns and accessories.

Out & About // Peachtree St.

A few days ago I ventured to Midtown (probably my favorite area of Atlanta) to shoot.  I came across this gentleman.  He told me that his blog is vc-dd.com and that he just recently launched an Atlanta-based fashion magazine.

Out & About // Peachtree St.

This is the first shot I snapped of someone without actually asking to take their photo.  I was impressed by this man's creased pants which is certainly something I would never take the time to do.  Also, anyone wearing a hat makes a wave on my radar.

Out & About // Perry

Two weekends ago I returned home to pick up some furniture so I could officially move into my new house in Reynoldstown.  While there I hung out with my incredibly chic friend Lauren.

Out & About // Reynoldstown MARTA

He and the girl in the previous photo were walking together and then I interrupted and took both of their photos.

Out & About // Reynoldstown MARTA

I'm seeing a trend of girl combining effeminate articles of clothing with highly masculine pieces, such as this girl's white lace top and brown work boots or the girl from the Inman Park Festival with her flowery tank top and black commando boots.
